Urban Wilderness Wayfinding
The Y-shape structure provides wayfinding and shade in Knoxville’s Urban Wilderness parks. It’s design is easy to build and install, incorporating low-maintenance materials. Volunteers for the Appalachian Mountain Bike Club have used the original design—made for Meads Quarry—to build and install similar kiosks throughout the 1,000 forested-acre parks. The pavilions have been a significant feature in bringing traffic to the parks and the South Knoxville area.
