The design for 107 Commerce Street is a multi-use building with commercial space on the ground floor and three levels of condos above. A private parking area with major grade change presented a significant challenge, requiring work to an existing retaining wall on the property boundary.
The design for the residential area offered privacy unique to downtown, with a common, community stair and balconies inset from the exterior wall. Although unbuilt, this design inspired many other projects in downtown Knoxville.
